Getting to Know You

This week is a “would you rather” theme.  Head over to MannLand5 to join in the fun too!

1. would you rather go on a picnic or to a bbq?  Well, I kind of think they’re similar.  I guess if we’re going to get into details, a BBQ would definitely involve the grill whereas a picnic would be more like cold sandwiches and stuff while sitting on a blanket in a park?  Of the two, I’d rather a BBQ, but as I said in yesterday’s post, my family apparently can’t deal with a BBQ (even if I do all the work!) and we’re going out to a restaurant tomorrow.  So really, compared to the restaurant thing, I’d rather do either of the above options!  I think Hubby and I are going to have our own picnic/BBQ today though.  Sometimes a pregnant lady wants the food she wants and doesn’t want to go to a restaurant where eating is more difficult due to the tables and big belly in the way!

2. would you rather go bra-less or panty-less?  bra-less – many times I stay in my pj’s most of the day at home, and don’t wear a bra.  I will never go out bra-less or without some sort of support, but I even have doctor’s orders to go bra-less at home right now (thanks to the heat and my wonderful pregnancy skin issues…)

3. would you rather go on a $5000 shopping spree at your favorite store or go on a $5000 vacation?  the vacation!  I’m not much of a shopper to begin with.  I buy what I need when I need it, and I try to buy on sale or where it’s cheaper.  I’m not a very “fashionable” person, and I have enough clothes and such that I’m happy with, so definitely the vacation (preferably a Disney cruise!)

4. would you rather eat escargot or sauteed crickets?  Um, yuck!  neither, but I guess the escargot would slide down whole a lot better than the crickets.

5. would you rather go on survivor or the amazing race?  Definitely the Amazing Race.  I watch both shows, but I can’t stand being dirty and smelly for that long, and I hate being hungry.  At least on the race if you get dirty or hungry, you know a pit stop is coming to clean up, recharge, and you get to see some awesome places.

6. would you rather be hot or cold?  usually hot, but with being pregnant in this heat we’re having now, I’d rather be cold at the moment.

7. would you rather go to the beach or lake?  beach

8. would you rather not shave your legs for a month in the summer or your armpits?  that’s a hard decision.  I hate wearing shorts with unshaved legs that are that bad, but armpits are so much easier to shave than legs.  I really can’t decide on this one.

Have a great finish to your 3 day weekend (if you are fortunate enough to enjoy one of those for the holiday)!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday/Saturday!

Oops!  I totally forgot to put this up yesterday!  I didn’t have it scheduled this week either, so, sorry for my tardiness.  I was kind of busy yesterday.  We had an OB appointment in the morning which was originally supposed to happen on Thursday, we went for breakfast afterwards, then I came home and tried to accomplish a few other things on the computer, and finally went out and about for some shopping, bill paying, and sending the car seat base back to CSN stores, thanks to their complete mess up (that you can read about here).  I finally remembered to do this post after midnight, but I was heading to bed, and figured I’d just do it today instead.
Here’s my choice for this week, taken earlier in the week:
Jaspy Jasper looks so sweet and innocent when he sleeps…don’t be fooled!   ;)   He really isn’t terrible or anything, but he’s certainly not as sweet and innocent as he looks here in this photo!  He can really work on my nerves sometimes, especially lately when my patience seems to wear thin quickly.  But he looked so cute all sleepy on the couch the other night, and actually stayed that way for the picture.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!  We’ll be accomplishing things around the house, hopefully getting dining room furniture from my aunt and uncle, but that’s still up in the air at this point, and apparently going out to eat with my grandmother/family on Monday.  Who goes out to eat over having a cook out on our nice (except for some stray weeds that still need taking care of) patio??  We do apparently…
Have a great weekend!!!

Seriously?! Thursday

I’m linking up with From Mrs. to Mama today for her Thursday post.  I found her blog through someone else’s blog that I read, who also links up to this weekly post.  I checked out her blog as well, and just became one of her newest followers too!  I’m not sure if I will link up with this posting every week, but today is a start.   :)

Seriously?!  CSN stores through Amazon.com.  I don’t think I will ever deal with them again after this mess.  They listed a Graco Snugride car seat base in beige.  That’s exactly what I needed.  I ordered it, and when they sent me an e-mail to confirm the order, it said “tan” – not what I ordered.  And yes, there is a difference in the colors.  If I really wanted the tan one, I could have ordered it directly from Amazon for $10 cheaper and no shipping!  Long story short, they said it was a mistake on their part, I requested to cancel the order, but somehow it already shipped out (before I even confirmed the order?!), and they refused to contact UPS to have the item returned to them before it reached my doorstep.  I was told I would receive a full refund of the item cost and the shipping I had to pay, and would not have to pay to ship it back to them.  Today’s e-mail said I would only receive the refund for the item.  They got a response to that, and I’m hoping they cooperate as they said they would, and I won’t have to contest the charge with the credit card and report them to the BBB.

Seriously?!  Our health insurance.  Again with the refunds.  We were owed $96 on a claim.  They sent us the check.  I didn’t take it to the bank right away, but once I did, I got another $96 check.  We were confused, so we looked into it.  The first check bounced, and they were replacing it.  Problem is, my bank charged us a $12 fee for a bounced check.  How does a major insurance company bounce a $96 check (due to insufficient funds!), seriously?!  Now we’re back and forth with them to get the $12 refunded as well.  All this makes me tired!

Seriously?!  This weather lately.  Crazy storms and tornadoes in places that don’t usually get hit by them (Philadelphia, Allentown??), and even the temperature.  It didn’t really feel like we had a real spring.  It felt like it went from cold, to chilly, to now super hot!  Those nice temperature days were few, and when we did have them, it rained and rained and rained.  The rain makes it feel chillier.  Then today it was just about 90 degrees here!  My AC is on in the house, but for some reason our upstairs doesn’t seem to cool down as much as it should.  We’ve made it better, but still not great.  I’d rather summer than winter, but I can’t stand the heat right now.  We have a lot of things to accomplish outside, and between the rain and heat, it’s not getting done as quickly as it needs to be done.

Seriously?!  I’m 36 weeks pregnant today!  This is not a rant one, but just unbelievable.  When thinking about it in weeks, the weeks seem to fly by, but when I think back to October when we found it, it seems like so long ago.  I’m not so sure I’m ready for the delivery part, but I am ready to not have this huge belly in the way anymore.  I can’t sleep well (up anywhere from 4-6 times a night for the bathroom – seriously?! – now every 1.5 hours), I can’t bend over and pick things up, I can’t even get up and down from sitting very well anymore.

Seriously?!  Taco Bell – or, rather, the lady at Taco Bell.  I wanted to get their current Big Box meal for Hubby, but he wanted some substitutions.  Before ordering, I checked the prices of things to make sure his substitutions were the same price as what is supposed to be included.  According to their menu, all prices were the same.  I asked for my first substitution, no problem.  As I started to ask for my second substitution, she already was giving me a look like I was a royal PITA, and then told me no, due to the price.  I tried pointing out on their menu that it was the same price, but she still refused.  I think she just didn’t want to deal with the substitutions…

I think that’s all I’ve got for now, thanks for reading my rants!  Today feels like Friday.  I don’t have to worry about one more work day or anything, but it feels like a Friday.  Hubby and I do have stuff to do outside, but this heat is unbearable!  At least I don’t have to cook today!   :)

My Style Crafts

So, I finally got some motivation to do something with my Artfire shop, My Style Crafts.  I have been wanting to do this for a while, and I even started prepping things, but then I got stuck, didn’t feel like doing it anymore, and it didn’t happen.  I finally started doing it a few days ago – adding prints to my shop!  I had a few different printing options, since I do not have the capability to make prints here at home, but I needed to get a few prints made to see how they came out first, before putting them up for sale.  Since I’m not the only one living in this house, I wanted Hubby’s input on what pictures to get printed and where to put them.  We decided on a seasonal theme, and got 4 prints made in B&W, one shot from each season, and finally had them printed!  I thought they came out very well, so I knew I could finally start adding the photos for sale in my shop.  We haven’t framed the prints for our home yet, but as soon as we do and get them hung up, maybe I will share it on here.  They will be hung up on the one wall in the office where we had to fix up a few spots, and those spots really stand out on the wall, so these prints will provide some cover up for those as well as decoration on a plain wall.

I currently have 8 prints listed.  All of them are only available in 8x10, though if a smaller size is requested, I can work that out.  I just didn’t create pricing for other sizes yet.  I will ship prints out in a cardboard flat rate priority mail envelope, so if more than one print is requested, they will be shipped together and only one shipping fee is charged.

Here is one of my favorites that is currently listed:

Fall Trail B&W - watermarked artfire

“Fall Trail” in B&W.  Some of the listing are available in both color or B&W, some are color only due to the fact that it is a colorful shot, and just wouldn’t look good as a B&W print.  Here is that same shot in color as well:

Fall Trail - wartermarked artfire

I plan to add quite a few more, so keep checking back at the shop for new additions!  I’m also trying to work out custom ordered candles.  All candles will be soy wax, containers only (no pillars at this time), and can either be scented, dyed, or both.  I just have to create my listings and figure out what sizes I will offer.  This means all candles ordered will be made at the time of order, so you get a freshly scented candle, but it will also mean that buyers have a longer order processing time, so that the candle can be made and allows me time to order supplies if I am currently out of something being requested.  At this time, it’s my best way I can offer candles in my shop, which is something I really liked creating.

So that’s what I’ve been up to creatively lately.  I haven’t made any new jewelry, but at least it’s a start to keep my shop going.  Maybe after the house and yard are in order, and the nursery is 100% complete, I can focus some attention on the jewelry.  I certainly have supplies and ideas waiting for me!

Oh, and I was very excited to receive notice that one of my earrings was hotlisted and featured in another seller’s collection.  She created a collection of her favorite patriotic items from Artfire, and included my “Patriotic Fireworks” earrings!  This picture was before I started taking nicer jewelry photos, but here they are:

IMG_2117Great for the upcoming patriotic holidays, maybe?   :)    If you are interested in anything you see in the post, or what else is currently listed in the shop, please check out My Style Crafts on Artfire!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

It’s Friday again!  I hope some of you have been having better weather than we have here.  It’s been raining/storming for a week now!  This weekend was supposed to be beautiful according to the forecast on Tuesday, but changed to include yet some more rain as of yesterday.  I’m not sure what the forecast says now, but I am tired of the rain.  Our lawn is in need of a mowing and trimming, the weeds surrounding my flowers around the patio are starting to really take over and look like a jungle out there, and we still need to put down our spring weed and feed on the lawn as well.  Hopefully we can get some of it done this weekend, and the rain either holds off or disappears.
Here’s my choice for this week.  It was taken just last night after Hubby and I finished snapping some pregnancy photos.
DSCF0109 My big momma’s boy, Jasper.  He can be so bad sometimes, but I absolutely love him (even though he did not want to take this picture and isn’t as happy with me as I am with him).  Sorry for the glowing eyes – I wasn’t sure of the best way to fix it.  Since he’s a big momma’s boy, and we have no idea how he will react to the baby or even to us once the baby is here, I’m trying to give him all the love and attention I can now, so he realizes he is loved and I will do as much as I can even after Bean is here, so he knows he’s still cared for, still my fur baby, and still momma’s boy (except that he will just have to share me).
I hope you all have a great weekend, and get to do something more fun and exciting than yard work!  If you’d like to participate in this post, grab the button up top, create your own post, and link it in the comments below.  I’d love to see some of your favorite kitties!

6 Weeks To Go!

I am now 34 weeks along in my pregnancy (well, 34 weeks and 4 days to be exact), and I feel huge.  I went to the doctor a week ago, and I don’t go again until this coming Thursday.  Apparently I have started to measure a week ahead, according to their tape measure.  I’ve been very nervous this whole time about having a big baby, and now I find out I’m measuring a week ahead and the doctor said he might just be growing a little too well.  I have no real baby measurements at this time though, because they can only figure that out through an ultrasound, and my OB would like to wait a couple more weeks to order that since babies can gain approximately a half a pound per week at this stage.  He’d like to wait until the beginning of June to get measurements so that we are a little closer to the end.  At this point, he hasn’t mentioned anything about inducing early depending on size, since we don’t really know a size, but I’m wondering if we will have to go that route.  I’m really hoping to avoid a c-section as well, but since we don’t know Bean’s measurements for sure or what position he’s in, I know a c-section is always a possibility.

My ankles and hands started to swell up for the first time on Easter and swell daily since then.  They usually go down at least a little bit overnight, and my blood pressure has been great (I even monitor it at home with my own cuff on really swollen days), so we’re not too concerned about that at this point.

I have a really hard time getting up and down from chairs and in and out of the car.  I’m still driving myself places, but it’s becoming somewhat of a hassle.  If my belly really does expand any farther over the next couple weeks, I won’t be able to drive myself anymore because I will no longer fit behind my steering wheel!  I have really short legs, so I have to have the seat closer to the wheel in order to reach the pedals and see the road.  I have already put my seat back a little, and I don’t feel comfortable putting it back even more.  Rolling from one side to another in bed is even more of a chore now.  I have to get up literally every two hours to go to the bathroom overnight – nature’s way of preparing me?

Bean’s movements have become much more than the typical thumps from kicks or punches that I was feeling before.  These days he seems to get hiccups more often, or at least I feel them more often, and he’s very squirmy.  The squirms are somewhat uncomfortable at times, and one day it was so bad it gave me a sore spot!  I’d much rather feel him moving though than not, because I get very nervous on his “quieter” days.

I still have reflux and heartburn issues, only sometime it’s a lot worse now because my stomach is even more squished in there.  Tums usually does the trick along with laying on my left side.  My craving lately seems to be pancakes.  I have eaten pancakes about 4 times in the last week and a half.  At least I never got really crazy cravings so far, and I haven’t sent Hubby out at weird hours or anything for food I needed right that minute.

We had our 3D ultrasound at the beginning of April, and that was an awesome experience.  Bean was pushed up against my placenta the whole time though, so it was hard to get a full face photo, but it was still a good experience, and I’m very glad we decided to do it.  Here’s what our little man looks like (I think he’s going to be a cute one!):

BENJAMIN_41

We have decided on a full name for him.  As of now I think I will still only refer to him as “Bean” on here though, just as I only ever say “Hubby”.  The nursery is just about complete.  It still needs the wall decals put up, a photo frame or two hung, and just some organization of the clothing and toys we received and bought.  The crib is all ready, even though he won’t be sleeping in there right away, and the changing area is all set up.  We have the Pack N’ Play all put together and waiting, and the swing is even set up in the family room already.  The only really major thing that has to be done yet is installing the carseat in Hubby’s car, and the extra base in mine.  We have to order the extra base online, and Hubby already tried to install the carseat, but had a lot of trouble getting it level, so we will be heading to AAA at some point to get carseat assistance.  Other than those few other minor things, we are pretty good with our prep for his arrival.  I always thought initially that I would deliver late, especially because I came almost 2 weeks late.  Now, with him possibly measuring bigger, and all the June babies I have read about being born now already, I’m not so sure if I will make it to my due date.  Father’s Day is the 19th this year, and it hit me yesterday when I was looking at cards – I came home and told Hubby he might have an official first Father’s Day this year already if Bean comes even 4 days early!

So, I know this post might have seemed like I was complaining a lot.  I’m 34 weeks pregnant, feeling huge, swollen, and uncomfortable – I’m allowed to complain!  But that does not mean I’m not very excited to meet Bean and wish I wasn’t pregnant – I’m very happy to be pregnant, and can’t wait until he’s here now!  :)

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

Happy Friday!  Even if it is Friday the 13th, I hope you are all having a great day!  Today is my dad’s birthday, so this post will still be kitty related, but I decided to find some fun birthday kitty photos this time to celebrate.  Enjoy!

We are spending the morning going to this awesome breakfast buffet (actually it’s called a “smorgasbord” – and it certainly fits it’s name!), since my dad gets his meal for free on his birthday.  They have an omelet station where you can order an omelet freshly made to your liking, a pancake station where they will make whatever pancake combo you want (I always get the cinnamon chip pancakes – yummy!), along with a typical breakfast selection, and even some really fattening yummy doughnuts.  We don’t go there often, mainly just on birthdays to get the free meal for that person, but it’s definitely a treat to go there!   :)  And since I have apparently been craving pancakes recently, I’m really looking forward to those cinnamon chip ones.
Before I end this post, since it is featuring kitties, I wanted to leave you with an update on Jasper.  He is doing just fine, he’s his typical self – just with one less claw, and everything looks good.  We started letting him use regular litter today because he was absolutely hating and avoiding using the Yesterday’s News stuff, but we will be keeping a close eye on his toe to make sure it’s not getting clumped with litter or showing signs of infection.  We had pain meds for him which ran out today, and we started him on the oral antibiotics today, but for the most part he seems pain free and normal!
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Oops, he did it again…

Well, I had an eventful ending to my “first” (unofficial) Mother’s Day.  I say unofficial since Bean is not quite here yet, but it’s quickly approaching now, so we considered it a day for me anyway.  Jasper managed to do it again.  He tore off his claw, the same toe that it happened to before (you may remember my Poor Kitty post and it’s update from earlier this year…if not, there’s the links!).  This time he managed to do it in a different way, and I guess it’s partially my fault as well, which I feel bad about.  On Saturday my mom gave me 2 handmade cat toys filled with catnip.  I brought them home in a paper bag that was inside a plastic shopping bag.  When I got home that day, I was in a hurry, so I threw the bag on a chair and then left it there…until last night.  I guess he finally caught a whiff of the catnip, and while I was doing something in the kitchen, I saw him jump onto the recliner where the bag was (we only have a half wall separating the kitchen and family room, so you can see everything).  I knew right away what he was going after, but when I saw him shoving his face into the bag (he does this all the time – every bag I bring home he has to be nosey into it), I noticed he had put his head through the handle of the bag.  I start to walk towards him and say, “Wait, buddy, you’re stuck – you’re stuck”.  As soon as he saw me coming, I guess he thought he was in trouble, and tried to jump off the chair – bag still around his neck.  This bag also had a small tin filled with a jigsaw puzzle in it.  So, when he jumped off the chair with the bag attached to him, he freaked out and started to run like you wouldn’t think such a fat cat could do!  He managed to empty the contents of the bag in the one corner of the room, but still had the bag trailing on him, so he was still panicked and running like mad all over the first floor of our house.  I couldn’t catch him, so I start screaming “Stop!  Stop!”.  Hubby came down and managed to cut him off at the bottom of the stairs in front of our front door.  He grabbed him, but Jasper was about to run upstairs, and almost pulled Hubby with him!  We got the bag off immediately, and started to check him out.  Sure enough, he tore off the same claw as before, and it was bleeding badly.  At least I knew what to do about it this time, and we were less panicked!  This time, he didn’t totally tear the claw off, but it was only just barely hanging on.  I quickly grabbed the cornstarch and we got it to stop bleeding.  I bandaged him up like before, and covered it with a baby sock, only I learned how to bandage a little better this time so it would stay on all night.  This all happened between 9-9:30pm, so the vet wasn’t open, and since we had been through this before, we knew it could wait until today to be checked out.  We sequestered him in our bedroom for the night to keep him calm and keep him with us in case there was a problem.  I called the vet right away after we had him all taken care of last night, and waited for their call back this morning.  They took him in early, and the vet was able to remove the dangling claw.  She said this time he seemed to have torn off the claw and quick, and we think it happened again because it was fresh growth and not a very sturdy claw, however, he didn’t quite get all of the nail where it grows out of the bone.  The vet was concerned that it would close up, grow over, and since there was still some nail left, it would continue to grow underneath and cause healing and growth issues.  So, we decided to basically declaw that toe.  He is declawed on his front feet, which we had done when he was 6 months old, but I know when they are adults, declawing can cause complications.  She felt he would be fine since it was just one toe, and doing that procedure would be the better bet than letting it go and having the other complications arise.

So, we will be picking him up in about a half hour, Hubby will tell him to get a job once we get the bill, and we will bring him home with the nickname of “9 toes McGee” (because it just seems funny, even though it’s not true and doesn’t match how many toes they actually have, especially since he didn't lose any toes, just claws).  They will be giving us antibiotics to use once the shot they gave him wears off on Thursday, and a few days worth of pain meds as well.  We’re also expecting to have to make a stop for some Yesterday’s News, since he’s all stitched up and possibly not bandaged.  Here’s hoping for a fast and non-complicated recovery!

Bad Texas Roadhouse Experience With a Good Ending!

I’ve had a long, tiring day.  I only went to bed around midnight last night, and had to be awake at 6am this morning.  On top of only 6 hours of sleep (when I’m used to a minimum of 8 these days – I know that will change soon, so I get it while I can!), I didn’t sleep very well during those 6 hours.  I was up 3 or 4 times for the bathroom, and then I just never felt like I was in that deep, restful sleep in between bathroom trips.  My hips were bothering me as well, so I had to keep switching sides, even though neither of them were comfortable.  I had to be up at 6am to be at my parents house for their community yard sale.  I don’t have too much to sell, but I have a little, and their community yard sale is my best bet at selling.  So I spent a good portion of the day at the their house for the yard sale, ended up getting pretty sun baked on my arms, even though I was sitting under a tent more than I was in the sun (obviously no UV protection there!), then had to head off to a performance that the baton group was doing.  We had a fair share of issues for that, between members forgetting pieces they needed, or admitting a loss of certain pieces, and the rain that dampened us all – even though as of last night, there wasn’t supposed to be any rain today.  Once the show was over, my dad and I headed to pick up my mom and Hubby and go off to eat dinner…which brings me to my main posting…

My dad called ahead for their “Call Ahead Seating” while I changed out of my damp clothes and fixed my hair.  We were going to eat at Texas Roadhouse, because it’s one of my mom’s favorite places.  The hostess told my dad it would be approximately 40 minutes, and we got there at the 40 minute mark from the time he called.  We were given a pager and pushed to the side.  The place was absolutely, ridiculously packed!  We ended up having to wait even longer in the tent they had set up outside in the dreary, damp, chilly air.  We ended up waiting yet another hour after arriving, even though we called ahead.  Once we finally were seated, and placed our orders, the whole dinner went downhill even more.  To start, Hubby’s salad did not come out with the rest of ours, and my salad bowl looked like it had someone else’s dressing all over it, which was grossing me out.  So we asked a waiter to bring his salad, and take mine back for a redo.  Hubby’s salad was brought out in the meantime by someone else, so when mine came out, his second salad did as well.  We sent it back since no one needed a second salad, and immediately after Hubby received his salad, his dinner arrived.  Now he has 2 plates of food, and we’re still working on our salads.  Even after we were done with salads, the rest of the meals were still not coming out.  We finally got the waitress’ attention, and informed her of the issue.  Our dinners came out very quickly after that, however, my food had to go back yet again!  I ordered a steak medium well, but when I cut into the center, it was still bloody.  If I weren’t 8 months pregnant, I would have just eaten it, but since according to everything I’m reading, I should be ordering everything well done, I decided they needed to cook it more.  So, while I waited for my steak to eventually come back to me, I was at least able to eat my baked potato.  My steak finally arrives, now cooked to a good well done (still not how I ordered it, but at least better than bloody), and everyone else is near finished with eating their own meals.  We finally managed to complain to the marketing rep about the issues, and she said she would inform the service manager.

The service manager ended up coming to our table, and explained some of the issues.  Apparently we had such a long wait because people were celebrating Mother’s Day, as well as sitting around the restaurant, taking their time to watch the Kentucky Derby, and Texas Roadhouse was not quite prepared for this busy situation.  She said she would also talk to our waitress about placing the food orders, and was very understanding about my food issues.  She also said we should have been offered a free appetizer for our extremely long wait, and we had not been offered that at all.  So she apologized and told us she discounted our check for all the trouble (we only expected that my meal would be free, or we would just receive a coupon for a freebie appetizer on the next visit).  Here’s where the real redeeming comes in – the check for the 4 of us was supposed to be about $52 and some odd cents.  The amount we ended up paying was $24 and some odd cents.  She took a little over 50% off the entire bill!  She also told us if we ever had any other issues when we came there, we should definitely ask for her and she would take care of things.  She was very nice, and smoothed things over very well.

So, will we go back again?  Yes, of course.  Will we ever go there on Mother’s Day weekend again?  Probably never.  At least they redeemed themselves on this visit with a very hefty discount!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

I didn’t get to put up another post this week before today, and I don’t even have any good excuse.  I’ve just had no energy or motivation for anything these days.  I guess that third trimester fatigue set in.  I still haven’t really gotten into the whole “nesting” thing yet.  I know there are things I want to do, but most days I just don’t feel like getting out of bed, and when I do, I end up on the couch most of the day, taking cat naps here and there.  Yesterday, however, we had to get up early-ish (early for me, considering my usual wake up time has been 10am lately!) to go to the OB, and for some amazing reason I actually had some motivation to get things done!  I didn’t accomplish a lot, but anything these days is an accomplishment over nothing at all.  If I can sit here comfortably, I might try to at least start some other posts and schedule them.  Sitting at my computer lately hasn’t been exactly comfy for a long period.
So, here’s my choice for this week.  This picture was taken just a couple days ago:
DSCF0101 Please don’t mind my tired, dopey-looking face.  I was tired, I don’t wear makeup (unless it’s a party or special occasion) and it was chilly in the house.  Jasper can not pass up the opportunity to lay on a blanket, but usually on the recliner he likes to go under the blanket, and then Dusty just likes a lap in general, and will sit on top of Jasper whether he’s under or on top of the blanket.  (You may remember this post.)  So, I had a full lap of kitties, and for a while it was so nice to have all that kitty snuggling.  After a while though, my hip started to hurt and I had to get them off so I could move my legs.
I hope you all have a nice weekend planned.  I will be at a yard sale a good portion of the day tomorrow, and then I will be helping out to organize a performance for the baton group in the late afternoon.  The director won’t be there, so hopefully the show goes well!

Getting to Know You

So, the host of this link up decided to go British for this week’s questions in honor of the royal wedding this past Friday.  I didn’t watch it at all, and I don’t care.  They’re British royalty, they are the future king and queen of England, not the USA, so really, why should I care so much about it here?  If you were all into it, fine, but not me, and that’s what I think.

But getting back to today’s questions, here they are:

1. did you watch the royal wedding?  As I just said above, not at all.  I didn’t even catch a glimpse of it on the 3 channels it was on, because I was still sleeping until 10am when it ended.

2. tea and crumpets or coffee and a scone?  coffee and a scone, but really I’d rather it be a different pastry, like a doughnut or crumb bun…none of which I should eat anyway…

3 who's cuter..prince william or prince harry?  Um, I don’t know…never fell into the whole cute prince thing.  And again – I don’t care.

4. can you speak in a english accent?  LOL, not at all!  I’ve tried, but it doesn’t work.  I can’t really do any kind of accent.

5. do you own a fancy hat?  Again, not at all!  I have 2 baseball caps with Eeyore on them, and even those I hardly ever wear.  I also used to have 2 fisherman’s hats, again, both with Eeyore on them, but I think they’re lost somewhere at my parents house.  I don’t really have any desire to own a fancy hat either.

6. would you rather live in a castle or an english cottage?  Well, I like some of the perks of a castle, especially if I don’t have to do the cleaning, but parts of them seem cold and not so homey, so probably an English cottage.

7. how old were you when prince charles and princess diana got married?  were you even born?  I honestly had to look this up.  Without a year on here, I had no clue when they got married.  The answer I found was July 29th, 1981.  So, I was exactly 12 days old.  And Hubby would have been turning exactly 1 year old that day.

8. have you found your prince?  Oh, yes!  Through a friend via the Internet on top of it all!  We have now been together for 12 years this July, and married for 4 years this June!   :)  I call him my soul mate though.   :)

That’s all the questions this week.  If you’d like to participate too, just go to her blog listed in the badge above, and create your own post, then link it up on her site.  I’m going to try to get in at least one more post this week before Favorite Kitty Pic Friday, if not more.  We’ll see how the week goes!
