Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

I hope everyone is having a good holiday season so far!  I can't believe Christmas is just a week away already.  Time is flying and I'm not done with everything yet.  And Bean is going to be so spoiled this year!  I know he doesn't even know what's going on yet, but he will be 6 months old and can finally start playing with bigger, more fun toys, so we couldn't help ourselves.  But there will be a Christmas post later for the Christmas link up I've been participating in every Tuesday this month.
Back to my photo choice.  Here is Jasper enjoying some lap time with me.  It doesn't happen often anymore, so he was purring up a storm!  (He looks a little grumpy, but I guess that's just his look.)

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

I hope you all have been having better weather than we have the last couple days.  Rain, rain, rain!  Today is supposed to be sunny though, but slightly chilly, so Bean will get to wear his one new fleecy outfit for the first time (if it fits him yet – he’ll be 5 months old on Wednesday, but still wears some 0-3 clothes and some 3-6 are still a tad big on him!)!  I can’t wait to see how cute he looks in it!  Fleecy baby clothes are just too cute.   :)

Well, back to the original star of this post…here is my choice for the week:

DSCF0356 Dusty sunbathing by the patio door.  He’s such a pretty kitty!   :)

I hope you all have a good weekend.  We will be preparing the house for Thanksgiving, and hopefully doing some outside prep/clean-up for the winter.  I also hope to buy my chest freezer between today and this weekend, so hopefully we will have that in time for Thanksgiving as well!  I never thought I would get excited about having a chest freezer…  Oh, the life of a domesticated, stay-at-home, breastfeeding mom!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

Well, I haven’t done this in a while either!  But here’s a most recent picture that I think is just too funny:

Ben and Jasper Bean and Jasper!  Bean looks very happy, Jasper not so much.  But he actually stayed there and let Bean lay on him to take the picture!  He makes for such a soft pillow.  ;)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  We will be going to the Redner’s Family Expo on Sunday, where the twirling group I teach for is performing, and this performance I will actually be the announcer!  Oh boy…I hope they like my voice, because I don’t really like it.  I’m a little nervous, but at least I have cards to read from.  Wish me luck!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

This post was previously scheduled, because yesterday, June 23rd, was my due date!  On Wednesday morning, I could have sworn my water broke, but apparently it was other stuff, my fluid level looked good on an ultrasound, and I wasn’t dilated enough to warrant admitting me, so I was sent home.  All the rest of the day, however, I began to actually notice some slightly stronger contractions (and I seem to be experiencing back labor…), but again, they were few and far between, so I scheduled this post then, in case anything did happen that evening and I wouldn’t have the chance to blog at all.

Here’s my choice this week:

IMG_2062 Dusty hard at work – or hardly working!  LOL   I’m leaving him in charge of my blog during this time of very early labor and/or childbirth, so if things are quiet, you know why!

Have a great weekend!  Hopefully the next time I get to blog I will have Bean to show off!   :)

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

I said in yesterday’s post I would try my best to get this post in this week – here it is!  I was a little stuck on which picture to use – I was even trying to find one on Cheezburger that related to my bad blogging or blogging in general, but had a hard time with that too.  Luckily the kitties gave us a nice photo op just a few minutes ago!  And all mostly by accident as well.   :)

kitties in carrier 1   kitties in carrier 2

These were taken with Hubby’s iPhone, and the first one had no flash, but they looked cuter.  I tried my best to adjust the lighting and such, but the other one had flash, so I’m posting that one too.  Ever since we brought Jasper home from having his one rear claw removed from his accident spaz out, he seems to enjoy lounging in there, so we removed the door and left it out for him to enjoy.  And since Jasper likes to pee in Dusty’s bed, we haven’t had that accessible for him lately (you see it sitting on top of the carrier – I need to use one of the baby’s waterproof pads under it, I think), Dusty has also been enjoying the coziness of the carrier.  Today, we managed to catch both of them in there at the same time!  I say it was mostly by accident because Hubby coaxed goosed Jasper into it, but didn’t know Dusty was already in there.  We saw Dusty come out, but Jasper stayed in, and eventually Dusty went back in, leaving this little snuggle session as the result!  I love my boys.   :)

If you would like to share your favorite kitty as well, grab the button above and create your own post.  Leave your link in the comment section below.  If you don’t have a blog, you can still comment and leave a link to your photo if it’s somewhere on the internet.

Have a great weekend!   :)

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday/Saturday!

Oops!  I totally forgot to put this up yesterday!  I didn’t have it scheduled this week either, so, sorry for my tardiness.  I was kind of busy yesterday.  We had an OB appointment in the morning which was originally supposed to happen on Thursday, we went for breakfast afterwards, then I came home and tried to accomplish a few other things on the computer, and finally went out and about for some shopping, bill paying, and sending the car seat base back to CSN stores, thanks to their complete mess up (that you can read about here).  I finally remembered to do this post after midnight, but I was heading to bed, and figured I’d just do it today instead.
Here’s my choice for this week, taken earlier in the week:
Jaspy Jasper looks so sweet and innocent when he sleeps…don’t be fooled!   ;)   He really isn’t terrible or anything, but he’s certainly not as sweet and innocent as he looks here in this photo!  He can really work on my nerves sometimes, especially lately when my patience seems to wear thin quickly.  But he looked so cute all sleepy on the couch the other night, and actually stayed that way for the picture.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!  We’ll be accomplishing things around the house, hopefully getting dining room furniture from my aunt and uncle, but that’s still up in the air at this point, and apparently going out to eat with my grandmother/family on Monday.  Who goes out to eat over having a cook out on our nice (except for some stray weeds that still need taking care of) patio??  We do apparently…
Have a great weekend!!!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

It’s Friday again!  I hope some of you have been having better weather than we have here.  It’s been raining/storming for a week now!  This weekend was supposed to be beautiful according to the forecast on Tuesday, but changed to include yet some more rain as of yesterday.  I’m not sure what the forecast says now, but I am tired of the rain.  Our lawn is in need of a mowing and trimming, the weeds surrounding my flowers around the patio are starting to really take over and look like a jungle out there, and we still need to put down our spring weed and feed on the lawn as well.  Hopefully we can get some of it done this weekend, and the rain either holds off or disappears.
Here’s my choice for this week.  It was taken just last night after Hubby and I finished snapping some pregnancy photos.
DSCF0109 My big momma’s boy, Jasper.  He can be so bad sometimes, but I absolutely love him (even though he did not want to take this picture and isn’t as happy with me as I am with him).  Sorry for the glowing eyes – I wasn’t sure of the best way to fix it.  Since he’s a big momma’s boy, and we have no idea how he will react to the baby or even to us once the baby is here, I’m trying to give him all the love and attention I can now, so he realizes he is loved and I will do as much as I can even after Bean is here, so he knows he’s still cared for, still my fur baby, and still momma’s boy (except that he will just have to share me).
I hope you all have a great weekend, and get to do something more fun and exciting than yard work!  If you’d like to participate in this post, grab the button up top, create your own post, and link it in the comments below.  I’d love to see some of your favorite kitties!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

Happy Friday!  Even if it is Friday the 13th, I hope you are all having a great day!  Today is my dad’s birthday, so this post will still be kitty related, but I decided to find some fun birthday kitty photos this time to celebrate.  Enjoy!

(Sorry, just had to do it with this photo!)
And just to throw in some sweet cuteness here:

We are spending the morning going to this awesome breakfast buffet (actually it’s called a “smorgasbord” – and it certainly fits it’s name!), since my dad gets his meal for free on his birthday.  They have an omelet station where you can order an omelet freshly made to your liking, a pancake station where they will make whatever pancake combo you want (I always get the cinnamon chip pancakes – yummy!), along with a typical breakfast selection, and even some really fattening yummy doughnuts.  We don’t go there often, mainly just on birthdays to get the free meal for that person, but it’s definitely a treat to go there!   :)  And since I have apparently been craving pancakes recently, I’m really looking forward to those cinnamon chip ones.
Before I end this post, since it is featuring kitties, I wanted to leave you with an update on Jasper.  He is doing just fine, he’s his typical self – just with one less claw, and everything looks good.  We started letting him use regular litter today because he was absolutely hating and avoiding using the Yesterday’s News stuff, but we will be keeping a close eye on his toe to make sure it’s not getting clumped with litter or showing signs of infection.  We had pain meds for him which ran out today, and we started him on the oral antibiotics today, but for the most part he seems pain free and normal!
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

I didn’t get to put up another post this week before today, and I don’t even have any good excuse.  I’ve just had no energy or motivation for anything these days.  I guess that third trimester fatigue set in.  I still haven’t really gotten into the whole “nesting” thing yet.  I know there are things I want to do, but most days I just don’t feel like getting out of bed, and when I do, I end up on the couch most of the day, taking cat naps here and there.  Yesterday, however, we had to get up early-ish (early for me, considering my usual wake up time has been 10am lately!) to go to the OB, and for some amazing reason I actually had some motivation to get things done!  I didn’t accomplish a lot, but anything these days is an accomplishment over nothing at all.  If I can sit here comfortably, I might try to at least start some other posts and schedule them.  Sitting at my computer lately hasn’t been exactly comfy for a long period.
So, here’s my choice for this week.  This picture was taken just a couple days ago:
DSCF0101 Please don’t mind my tired, dopey-looking face.  I was tired, I don’t wear makeup (unless it’s a party or special occasion) and it was chilly in the house.  Jasper can not pass up the opportunity to lay on a blanket, but usually on the recliner he likes to go under the blanket, and then Dusty just likes a lap in general, and will sit on top of Jasper whether he’s under or on top of the blanket.  (You may remember this post.)  So, I had a full lap of kitties, and for a while it was so nice to have all that kitty snuggling.  After a while though, my hip started to hurt and I had to get them off so I could move my legs.
I hope you all have a nice weekend planned.  I will be at a yard sale a good portion of the day tomorrow, and then I will be helping out to organize a performance for the baton group in the late afternoon.  The director won’t be there, so hopefully the show goes well!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

Happy Friday!  I know my posting has been very non-existent lately, but I had a full 2 weeks+ of painting, cleaning, etc.  We had our baby shower, and after all that was said and done, I needed some relaxation time.  Apparently my energy isn’t coming back now though.  I still have things to do that will require a bit of energy, and I just haven’t been able to find it.  I do have more posts that I want to create, just need to sit down and write them now!
So, here’s my choice for this week’s post.  I think it’s very fitting to how I feel lately:
DSCF0070 Lazy, lazy, lazy.  I took this picture while we were painting.  We kept the kitties in our very large bedroom (with everything they needed, of course) while we painted.  This was a common sight to walk into.  Sometimes we even caught them snuggling with each other, which was adorable, but unfortunately I didn’t manage to get any pictures of those times.
Hope you all have a good weekend planned!  I will be attending a baton competition tomorrow, and a friend’s wedding in the evening, and on Sunday we are getting a nice dining room set from my aunt and uncle.  We will finally have a complete dining room set, and a table in our eat-in kitchen!  It will make the house seem a little more complete.   :)

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

TGIF!  Well, not really for me.  We are starting that really big house painting project this weekend while we can get my dad’s help (even though I will be at a baton twirling competition until the afternoon tomorrow), but I’ve already started prepping the walls by sanding and spackling, and taping of the trim will hopefully get somewhat done today.  So, while many of you enjoy your weekend, we will be hard at work here for quite a few days this week.  We do have some exciting things happening this week though – I start my Preparing for Childbirth classes on Sunday, and we go for the 3D ultrasound on Wednesday!  Especially excited for that day!  :)
This week, as promised, I have Favorite Kitty Pic Friday in video format.  Hopefully I get this all to work properly, since I never put video in a post before.  Here’s Dusty:
I hadn’t seen Dusty do this in a while, but sometimes when he gets wild, he really goes wild!  He’s up in the cat tree perch, and you have to consider that there is a big hole that takes up a good portion of the resting area – it’s amazing he doesn’t fall through at all!  We don’t usually have the video camera charged and ready to go, so thankfully Hubby’s phone can shoot video so we were able to finally get at least one of the cats doing something silly!
I hope you all enjoyed this video – I still laugh every time I watch it!   :)  If you would like to share your own favorite kitty photo or video, just create a post of your own, grab the badge from the top of this post, and link your post here in the comments.  If you don’t have a blog but would still like to share, just leave a comment with the link to your photo.
Hope you all have a wonderfully relaxing weekend!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

I actually scheduled this post very early in the week to make sure I at least had this post in for the week.  Here’s my choice for this week:
DSCF0031 Dusty sleeping in his own bed.  We bought this bed for about $10 at Wal-Mart as a Christmas present for him this past year.  He always loved sleeping in pet beds before, but we haven’t had much luck with them, all thanks to Jasper.  For some reason, Jasper likes to pee in pet beds.  The very first one we had for them was a small foam dog bed – eventually Jasper peed in it.  So we upgraded to a large foam dog bed, hoping they would both fit in it together again, like they originally did with the first one.  The first one took him a long time to destroy.  The second big one was a $40 bed, and we had it less than a week before he peed in it!  We gave up on the beds for a while after that, until we moved into our house.  My parents had an old foam bed, same size as the one that lasted us a week, and offered it to us since they didn’t have a cat at the time and were just going to throw it away.  I told them Jasper would probably pee in it, but we took it anyway.  Sure enough, he did!  I don’t remember how long it took him to get to that one, and those foam beds have removable covers you can throw in the wash, but they have a shaped foam body, and once the pee gets in there, it’s very hard to completely rid the bed of the smell, even if you manage to rinse out all the fluid.  So, pretty much those beds are trash once he pees in them.  We decided to avoid beds from that point.  But, I felt bad for Dusty because he always loves to sleep in them until Jasper ruins it.  We decided maybe to try a bed that you could throw the entire thing into the washing machine to really clean should Jasper strike again – except all we found were really expensive ones.  Finally this past Christmas we saw this one at Wal-Mart, and decided to buy it.  At first Dusty wouldn’t sleep in it unless one of my towels was covering it (he had most recently been making his bed out of the dirty towel pile).  Eventually we got him to sleep in it without a towel, and it made me so happy to see him all snuggled in his own bed.  Until recently…  I’m sure you’ve guessed it by now – Jasper peed in this one too!  I noticed Dusty wasn’t going in the bed, so I checked it out, and sure enough, full of pee!  I threw it in the wash right away, gave it a rinse cycle, and a full wash cycle.  I don’t really notice much of a smell now, but since I put it back, Dusty still hasn’t gone back in it.  I’m afraid Jasper ruined it for him.   :(   But at least he looks happy and cozy in it for this picture.  Anyone have any suggestions to coax him back to his own bed?
If you want to share your favorite kitty too, you can create your own post, add the badge at the top of this post to yours, and just link back here in the comments section.  If you don’t have a blog of your own, you can leave a link to the photo if it’s viewable online somewhere.  Hope you all have a good weekend!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday! (on Saturday – oops!)

I know the post is titled “Favorite Kitty Pic FRIDAY!”,  and it’s already past 5pm on Saturday, but at least I’m getting it in this week, even if it’s late.  I can’t even make excuses as to how busy I was yesterday.  I did have one thing to do – I went for my one hour glucose test to start checking for gestational diabetes, but that obviously didn’t take all day.  No, I was just lazy otherwise.  Same as today.  We are headed out very soon to shop for curtains, shelves, and a dimmer switch to replace the regular light switch in the nursery – Hubby thought we were going earlier this afternoon.  My nap on the sofa changed that.  I would really like to know when this nesting thing kicks in, or if it ever will for me, because my house is a complete wreck and I have no desire whatsoever to do any kind of cleaning.  It’s bad lately, and it really needs to get done, but day after day I just really don’t feel like doing it and now my house looks like a tornado came through.
Anyways, I have a couple pictures for this post this week.  These were just taken on Thursday night, and this is a rarity to see these days:
snuggle buddies 1
They snuggled up on the recliner with each other!  Usually when they are this close to each other for a certain amount of time, it turns into an epic battle and one of them (usually Jasper) gives up and leaves the area.
snuggle buddies 3

They stayed like this for quite some time!  No fights, nothing.  Jasper passed out (obviously) and I just thought the way Dusty was looking at him in this picture was too cute.  And then, eventually…
snuggle buddies 4 Dusty gave in and relaxed too.  :)   It was so sweet to see them together like this.  They used to snuggle all the time when they were kittens, and gradually outgrew it.  Like I said, if we do ever get them together, it usually ends up in a battle for the spot they’re in, and Dusty typically wins.  He may be much smaller, but he’s feisty!
I’d like to do at least one nursery post soon, but I’m thinking I’ll split it into a couple parts to show the progress we’ve been making on it.  Hopefully I’ll get to the first one within the next few days!
Have a great weekend everyone!  :)   And wish me luck that I passed my one hour test (though, I’m not having any expectations – I’m very nervous I failed…)

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

Happy Friday!  I totally missed doing this post last week (and thanks to my newfound lack of memory, I can’t even remember why I missed it!  Thanks pregnancy brain!), and I had other posts I wanted to do this week, but I feel so behind on everything at the moment.  My Google Reader was up to almost 400 posts unread (!), my laundry feels very neglected along with dirty dishes and all other housecleaning (when’s this nesting thing supposed to kick in??), but we did accomplish something this past week.  The smaller amount of the work I did has taken up all of my energy too.  We prepped the walls of the nursery, picked out a paint color, painted, touched it up, and now it’s ready for a good clean out of all the paint supplies, vacuuming, and finally furniture!  I plan to do a post about that later though…
So, that has been my week.  My hips are not thanking me for it, and I don’t seem to have the energy for much more right now.
Here’s my choice for the week:
IMG_1675 Oh, Jasper, the positions you put yourself in.  This is how he washes his belly (amongst other things…) and I actually found out it’s called the “Buddha position”.  He certainly has the Buddha belly for it!  (Don’t mind the mess around him – this was back at the apartment, and probably right around putting up the Christmas tree.)
Hope you all have a nice weekend!  Today seems pretty dreary here, and I really need to get that room cleaned up for the furniture to go in this weekend, hopefully.  Have a great Friday!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

It’s Friday again!  This week has been a pretty lazy week for me.  I really need to find my motivation, or energy, whatever it is I’m lacking in order to get stuff done around here.  I haven’t done any new crafts, I have no desire to clean at all (when’s this nesting thing supposed to start to kick in??), and there are times I don’t even feel like going anywhere.  I’m hoping spring will start to show itself and bring back my motivation with it, before I grow to big to be able to do certain things!
My pictures this week came from just last night.  They aren’t the greatest shots, but it was just funny, and I had to capture it somehow.  Hubby was sitting on the recliner with his feet up and a blanket over his legs.  Jasper loves blankets, and Dusty loves to sit on laps in the evening.  So, this was the result:
dusty in lap Dusty was finally able to settle into a little hole in Hubby’s lap.  You see that big lump pressed against his right side?

full lap of kitties

That big lump was Jasper’s big behind!  Under the blanket.  Jasper was there first, and Dusty sort of intruded in on the snuggles, but Hubby had a very full lap!  Of course, Jasper got sick of it and jumped off after a few minutes.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.  We will be heading to Baby Safety Day at Babies R Us tomorrow, and probably ordering the nursery furniture this weekend now anyway.  We weren’t planning on getting it quite yet, but I got a coupon last night that gives you a $250 gift card when you make a furniture purchase of $1299 or more and use your rewards card.  I think we’ll be taking advantage of that deal!  Have a good weekend!   :)

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

Happy Friday!  This week felt pretty long while it was happening, but now that it’s Friday, I feel like I just did this post yesterday!  We had some really icy weather this week, and apparently a little more is coming tomorrow, then some more snow later on in the week (but I don’t know about any kind of accumulation for those days yet).  I haven’t been shoveling at all because of being pregnant, but I feel bad for hubby since he's on his own with a not-so-great back to begin with.  Luckily my dad lives close by and has been helpful.
So, anyway, back to what this post is about.  Here is my choice for this week:
img152 Meet Cody again.  If you don’t remember his last post, he was the cat my parents and I had while I still lived with them.  He is no longer with us, but was one very cool cat.  I can’t remember where I was packing to go at this time, but he used to do this often enough.  I guess he wanted to go along too!  I could never seem to get a really good picture of him with his eyes looking normal, but really his eyes weren’t like this.  This is just another one of my favorite photos of him.
I hope you all have a nice weekend, and hopefully some better weather!  Big baby update coming very soon!   :)

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

TGIF!  And more snow…  It snowed a lot here on Wednesday, and we had some other accumulating snow a couple times before that.  Nothing has been quite as bad as last year’s snowstorm, but this year hubby has to do all the shoveling himself every time.  I feel bad I can’t help him, and I know there are some pregnant women out there shoveling, but that’s not an activity I really want to risk doing when I have a hubby around and a nearby dad to help if needed.  And if you couldn’t tell my “excitement” above – it’s snowing again this morning…  I really feel bad for hubby since the snow from Wednesday still isn’t completely shoveled away yet.
I know I said I would do this post back on it’s regularly weekly basis starting last week, but we are having some heating vent issues since last winter, and the guy has finally been coming out to figure it out and fix it.  We just have a noisy vent, and it’s still not fixed, but they know what they have to do now, and if it ever stops snowing, we can finally get him back here to do it.  So that’s what happened last Friday – I was waiting for the guy to come, then dealing with him while he was here, and I totally forgot to do this post.  So I’m hoping to get it back on track today, and here is my choice for this week:
IMG_2862 Just a simple picture of Dusty, but I thought it was a very good close up of him.  I figured Jasper got the spotlight in 2 recent posts about his foot, so I picked Dusty for this week.  How can you not love that face?   :)
Have a great weekend!  Hopefully no more snow, at least for now (though I’m done with winter now), and maybe I will finally start to get my house cleaned up.  It’s a wreck at the moment from taking Christmas stuff down, since it’s not all quite put away yet, and I can’t do it all by myself either – the snow really needs to stop so I can have some of hubby’s energy and strength for some help with that stuff!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

Merry Christmas Eve!  I hope you are all ready for the big day tomorrow or having fun celebrations today already.  We will be heading to church this evening (since I really like the new pastor this year), and then over to my parent’s neighbor’s house (she’s also the MIL of my mom’s second cousin, and they stay with her when they come in from Pittsburgh, so we visit with them).  Tomorrow we will go out for a buffet lunch with my one grandmother, uncle, parents, and aunt and uncle.  When my grandparents started getting a little too old for cooking big meals, they decided to take everyone out on Christmas day instead, and even though I never liked going out to eat on a holiday, my only remaining grandmother loves this tradition, especially now with my grandfather gone, so we still go and then we head back to her house to exchange gifts and play Wii games.  Usually we headed to my other grandmother’s house in the evening, but that won’t be happening this year…
So here are my photo choices for this week (they are pretty much my last Christmas kitty pics I have of my own kitties, so I better take some new ones for next year!):
santa cats1I don’t know why the picture quality is so bad.  I guess these weren’t the original files.  This was the boys first Christmas.  We tied pretty ribbons on them (don’t worry, they were supervised the whole time and the ribbons came off immediately following pictures), and posed them on the sofa with our Santa hat.  Jasper did not want to stay for anything.  Dusty was perfectly content to sit and let us snap away.
Santa DustyAs seen here!  I really need to find the original files of these somehow.  This picture quality is terrible, but these are all I had to work with at this time.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I will try to post again on New Year’s, but before then will be very busy and crazy for me.  Happy Holidays!

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

I know I have posted anything in 2 weeks.  I even skipped this post last week.  I’ve been somewhat busy, especially this week now with Christmas only being 1 week away, and last week was a very physically, mentally, and emotionally tiring week.  I will have a post on that (hopefully) tomorrow, since I haven’t been able to finish typing it up yet, due to emotions and lack of extra time.
It is Friday today though, so TGIF!  I wanted to make sure I got this post in today, because I have a few very cute Christmas-y pics of my kitties from when they were babies.  My choice for today (I picked 2):
100_0340 We have an artificial tree, and this was the first year they ever experienced a Christmas tree.  I’m estimating them to be about 4 months old at that time.  So, in the middle of putting it up, Jasper decided it looked like a fun thing to climb and perch himself on.  This was not the last time we found him perched in the tree – but it was worse once all the ornaments were on.  We lost a few glass balls that year…
100_0312
Dusty tried climbing the tree at least once, but definitely seems to like to cuddle up under it on the tree skirt more often.  To this day, they don’t try to climb the tree anymore since they are both too big to fit up inside, but Dusty can still be found under it sometimes, along with Japer, who is mainly under there to play with all the ornaments around the bottom that he can reach.  We decided to replace the broken glass balls with shatterproof ones, and the rest of the ornaments on the bottom are harder to break.  We do still have lots of breakables, but we don’t seem to clean up as many, if any at all, each year they get older.  Though I may be replacing my string of colored lights soon…Jasper apparently thinks they are candy and chews on them.  We stop him as soon as we catch him, but some of my colored lights now look clear!
Have a Christmas fun-filled weekend!  Tomorrow’s (hopefully) post will be on a very serious note, with much sadness from me.  Just a warning.  I wanted to make sure I posted this today though.

Favorite Kitty Pic Friday!

Hello! It’s the end of the week again, and I hope you all have something fun or relaxing planned! I’m having a busy 2 days – I’ll be at what is probably PA’s largest craft/gift show all day today, and tomorrow hubby and I have a few things to do before getting ready for the baton twirling group’s annual banquet. It’s always a nice night to get together outside of the practice or performing setting, but I am having a really hard time figuring out what to wear. I have nice dress pants that still fit me, but I’m having issues with tops – all the ones I currently own are a little snug for my liking, and I bought 2 new tops tonight, both the same size, but one is still snug and the other one is so huge it totally drowns me! How does that happen?! I really liked them both, but now I have to try to exchange them for different sizes, or shop somewhere else altogether on Saturday morning and hope to find something. I’m frustrated in the clothing department right now.
Anyway, back to what today’s post is really about:
IMG_1746 Jasper just loves the blankets! This brown one seems to be his favorite, but the gray fleecy one we have will do just fine if the brown one is not in sight. He usually only snuggles up on your lap between your legs if you have the blanket. He drags this blanket from the couch in the family room all the way through our kitchen and dining room to the front living room or through the kitchen and hallway. Every night. He’s not usually snuggled under this blanket, like above, but if you put it that way he doesn’t seem to mind! My poor boys had their yearly vet visit tonight along with their rabies and distemper shots. Dusty was shaking and scared, Jasper just crouched low, but overall they did well, and seemed unaffected by the shots this evening. I remember when Cody would go to the vet, and they would have to throw a towel over his head because he would hiss and spit, and try to bite the vet and techs! I’m so glad my boys aren’t like that. You can tell they don’t want to be there, but they are calm and quiet.
